Ute destroyed in fire near Torrumbarry

District brigades were quick to respond to a fire along the Murray Valley Hwy, Torrumbarry, earlier today.

District fire brigades were called to a ute and grass fire on the side of the Murray Valley Hwy, Torrumbarry, about 5.40pm today.

The fire is believed to have been started by a mechanical fault in the vehicle, which was destroyed.

Brigades put out the car fire and grass which had caught alight and burnt along the highway and into neighbouring paddocks.

Echuca police were called to help with traffic control along the scene.
