Snowden St resident Sarah Crossman said her family woke up on Wednesday morning to find four of their nine chooks dead in their enclosure and three of them missing altogether.
It did not take long to realise who the culprit was.
‘‘One of our neighbours captured video footage of a fox sneaking around their yard recently,’’ Mrs Crossman said.
‘‘It’s probably the same one.’’
But Mrs Crossman said she was not expecting the scene the family woke to.

‘‘The dogs were inside for the night, if they were outside it probably wouldn’t have happened.’’
When the Riverine Herald visited on Wednesday, white chicken feathers were scattered over the long stretch of the chicken enclosure in the Crossman’s backyard.
The two remaining chooks, which managed to survive despite being attacked, were looking decidedly worse for wear.
