A tractor which lost a wheel on the Echuca-Moama bridge caused minor inconvenience for drivers this morning.

About 11.30am, the privately owned Kubota tractor was making its way from Moama towards Echuca when it lost a front wheel.

The young driver was stranded on the bridge while he waited for help.

He told the Riverine Herald the wheel ‘‘just fell off’’ as he was driving.

The flow of traffic was not greatly affected, though it did slow considerably as larger vehicles like trucks attempted to make their way around the stricken tractor.

Police arrived on scene to direct traffic and the tractor was removed from the bridge.
