Tracey Kerr sentenced to seven years for manslaughter

Echuca woman Tracey Kerr could be out of prison in as little as just over two years after a judge ordered her to serve a minimum of four and a half years in jail for killing Doug Barrett in 2012

Tracey Kerr has been sentenced to seven years’ jail for killing Echuca man Doug Barrett, 65.

However, with 818 days served, the Echuca woman will be eligible for parole in just over two years.

Justice Elizabeth Hollingworth handed down the sentence in Melbourne Supreme Court this morning.

Kerr, 42, was found guilty in April of manslaughter for the stabbing death of Mr Barrett on May 26, 2012.
