Super day of superkart racing at Torrumbarry
Welton Primary School students enjoyed a super day of superkart racing.
By Beth MorrisonWelton Primary School students took part in a ‘Superkarts’ race day at Torrumbarry Weir on Wednesday as part of their technology and outdoor education program.
Multi-age teams named red, yellow, green and blue participated in kart racing, which included an obstacle course, sprints and an endurance race.
Each team had one cart to race, with each built and named by students in grades 4, 5 and 6.
They included karts called ‘‘Grease Lightning’’, ‘‘Raster Rocket’’ and ‘‘The Splatmobile’’.
Teacher Bruce Taylor organised the day, as well as supervising and keeping score for teams.
