St Mary’s sister act, part 5

Identical twins Lily and Rosy Marsh have joined three sisters at Echuca's St Mary's Primary School this year.

Identical twins Lily and Rosy Marsh will not have much to worry about in the school playground this year, with three sisters looking out for them.

The Marsh clan at St Mary’s Primary School swelled to five on Friday when five-year-old preps, Lily and Rosy, joined sisters Ella, 11, Lana, 10 and Gemma, 8.

Ella said it was good to have all her sisters join her at primary school, but it did have its drawbacks.

‘‘It’s also a bit embarrassing, ’cause they’re always running up and trying to cuddle me,’’ she said.

Lana said she was looking forward to her youngest sisters learning how to read.

‘‘It’s good that they’re at school ’cause they get to learn lots,’’ she said.

Gemma said she felt happy that the girls were at school.

‘‘It’s funner [sic] with everyone,’’ she said.

School chaplain Mel Slattery said it was the first time in a long time, if ever, that the school had had five siblings enrolled at the same time.

Lily and Rosy joined 65 other preps who started at the school on Friday.
