Southern 80 competitor airlifted to hospital after boat strikes jetty
A man has been airlifted to hospital after hitting a jetty near Pianta Rd during today's Southern 80 ski race.
A boat competing in the Southern 80 is believed to have hit a jetty near Pianta Rd, throwing a man from the boat.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man, 39, was being airlifted to hospital with severe fractures to his leg.
The identity of the man or boat could not be confirmed.
It is also believed at least one other incident occurred further west on the river, but no specific information is yet known.
