Shell spokesperson Paul Zennaro said Shell had returned fuel to service stations in NSW, Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory and far north Queensland.
‘‘In Victoria, south east Queensland and Adelaide, customers may see temporary periods of fuel unavailability at a small number of Shell service stations while fresh deliveries are made,’’ he said.
‘‘In these states, periods of fuel unavailability may be longer at smaller Shell service stations so that deliveries can be prioritised to larger service stations experiencing very high demand.
‘‘Additional delivery vehicles are being returned to service each day and full delivery capacity should be restored by the end of the week.
‘‘Shell apologises if the fuel you are looking for is not available at the Shell service station you visit.’’
