An 18-year-old man was taken to Bendigo Health with facial injuries on Thursday following a boating accident at Greens Lake, Corop.

Ambulance Victoria spokesperson John Mullen said two men on a sea biscuit — which was dragged along by ski boat — fell off when the boat took a sharp corner at 9pm.

Mr Mullen said the men crashed heads and were carried ashore by the boat before the 000 call was made.

He said it appeared one of the men received a fractured cheek and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Mr Mullen said the second man appeared to have escaped injury.

Footy coach's toughest battle

He's the tough footballer who was driven to the brink in a desperate attempt to preserve his bravado. If it weren't for the loving support of his family and football club, Mulwala coach Ben James would have become one of the six Australian males who take their lives each day.
