The 37-year-old, from Ringwood East, was being towed on a kneeboard behind a jetski when the accident occurred at 10.30am.
Roads and Maritime Services boating safety officer Steve Jordan said the driver of the jetski did a u-turn about 200m from the hairpin bend near Merool on the Murray and the kneeboarder travelled over the jetski’s wake and struck a large snag in the water.
He was taken to the Vic Park boat ramp in a punt from a nearby houseboat where an ambulance met him and took him to Echuca hospital.
