The meeting rooms have also been used more than 550 times.
Library services manager Jenny Mustey said the numbers spoke for themselves.
‘‘Even more than we ever imagined, the library has become a hub for both residents and visitors,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s become a central meeting place for people from all walks of life and we’re excited to celebrate this important milestone with people from across the community.’’
They will include music, storytelling and free children’s activities such as face-painting, art and craft sessions, biscuit-decorating and a teddy bear’s picnic.
