Echuca school launches smartphone app
An Echuca school has launched a smartphone app to help parents and students keep up-to-date.
By Ruth ClaytonEchuca College has launched itself into the smartphone era with a new app to assist parents and students.
Assistant principal Melissa Gould said the app, which was launched to staff yesterday, was another way for the school to increase student and parent engagement with the school.
The app will give students and parents information about events and activities at the school, as well as giving them access to the school newsletter.
Another benefit was feeder primary schools — schools which look to link with certain secondary schools — could strengthen potential connections, Mrs Gould said.
‘‘We also thought it was a great way for feeder primary schools to find out about the school,’’ she said.
The app is due to be released to the public on Friday.
