Echuca's Campaspe Regional Library is marking a milestone today, celebrating its first birthday and everyone is invited.By Trent Horneman
Echuca’s Campaspe Regional Library turns one today and the celebration is all about books, naturally.
The birthday party at the library, from 10am to 1pm, includes music, storytelling and free activities for children, like face-painting, art and craft sessions, biscuit-decorating and even a teddy bears’ picnic.
Special guests, including several Campaspe Shire councillors, such as Cr Emma Bradbury, will hold court in a special reading chair, sharing their favourite books.
At 10am, the library’s Words on Wheels storytellers will weave their magic, the reading hour from the reading chair kicks off at 11am and the teddy bears’ picnic and cake-cutting will happen after stories have finished.
The day will include displays from community groups with close ties to the library and there will be children’s entertainment, art and craft workshops and music from Gwen Potter and Kate Capani.
