Campaspe Shire councillor Robert Danieli has today resigned from his position on council.

A statement released by Campaspe Shire this afternoon said that Cr Danieli resigned due to possible eligibility issues associated with contesting a Senate seat in the coming federal election while being a councillor.

Chief executive Keith Baillie said Campaspe Shire had advised the Victorian Electoral Commission of the vacancy in Kyabram Deakin Ward as a result of Cr Danieli’s resignation and was awaiting advice as to the process to be followed.
