Curls the hottest thing in wedding hair
Curls, curls and more curls are still the most popular request when it comes to wedding hairstyles, according to Echuca hairdressers.
Whether they are up, down, pulled to the side, long and loose, or big and messy, curls have been huge this season.
Just ask Sublime Mobile Hair and Makeup wedding hair stylist Rebecca Clifford and Mint Condition hairdresser and hair manager Cassie Wylie.
When it comes to choosing a hairstyle for your wedding, Rebecca said although balance between fabrics, details and skin showing were important, a hairstyle should not be determined by the dress.
‘‘You need to have something that you are comfortable with, suits your face shape and personality,’’ she said.
‘‘Every bride has a look which they are trying to achieve which helps to determine a hairstyle and make-up alike. It is our job to team it all together and make sure it tells a harmonious story — their own special love story.’’
Cassie said natural colours were the perfect choice for the coming bridal season.
‘‘We are using a lot of the balayage technique in the salon and the warm tones come through quite a bit in our colour creations for winter,’’ Cassie said.
Balayage is a free-hand form of highlighting your hair, where your stylist applies blonde to your ends, but leaves your roots natural.
Rebecca and Cassie said brides should plan their hair in advance as style could be determined by the condition, length and colour of their hair.
They also said every wedding hairstyle and make-up application were done to last.
‘‘When we leave you, I don’t expect the bride or maids to do anything to their hair, except maybe a little spray that we may leave for you, along with lippy applicators before you walk out the door,’’ Cassie said.
Your hairstyle and make-up will remain in place all day long.
