Women's gathering in Deniliquin

Cobram music educator Emma Creed will hold an International Women's Day workshop in Deniliquin this Sunday.

By Sam Hall

Deniliquin women are invited to come together in song to celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday.

A two-hour singing ‘playshop’ titled Woman Song is being held at St Paul’s Anglican Church Hall in Deniliquin from 2pm to 4pm.

It is being coordinated by Emma Creed, a community music educator from Cobram, in celebration and support of women all over the world.

‘‘Life can be a bit serious sometimes, it’s time to lighten up a bit and find what brings you joy,’’ Emma said.

‘‘For me it’s music, singing, playing and creating a space for others to come together and express themselves in sound and song.

‘‘If we can do that and support other women and their communities, all the better.’’

The playshop is being held in conjunction with The Hunger Project Australia, which helps women find their voice to lead themselves out of poverty in Africa, India and Bangladesh.

Bookings can be made through Emma on 0438 619 518.
