Liz, Alana deliver biggest pumpkins
The Deniliquin Show biggest pumpkin section attracted some strong competition.
By Zoe McMaughThe pumpkins in this year’s Giant Atlantic Pumpkin competition fell short of last year’s weight benchmark, but were still impressive.
Liz Gough’s 58kg pumpkin came closest to the 70kg whopper which won Brett Allitt the prize in 2012.
The junior category was also well contested this year, and Alana Stanworth’s winning vegetable was only 4kg lighter than the open winner.
