Deniliquin business owner wants donations
Deniliquin's Rod 'Chappy' Chapman is urging more people to donate to his Greatest Shave fundraiser.
By Cass SavellisWith only two weeks left until Rod ‘Chappy’ Chapman loses his hair for the Leukaemia Foundation, now is the time to get your donations together.
Chappy (pictured) has about $400 so far, but is urging people to dig deep in the hope he can raise a lot more.
‘‘This is raising money for a good cause, so come on Deni, have a go!’’
Chappy will conclude the Greatest Shave with an event at the White Lion Hotel on Friday, March 22, starting at 8.30pm.
On the night, the highest bidders for each category will have the privilege of holding the clippers to his head, beard or chest.
The largest donation to date is $100 from Brian and Pat Cockayne towards the chest, Chappy said.
‘‘I’ve been getting people to write down what their donation is going towards shaving.
‘‘So far the chest is the highest with $150 (total), then my head with $60 and beard at $20.’’
Get along to Deni Sports Centre or the White Lion Hotel to make a donation, and head down to the White Lion on March 22 to see the Greatest Shave in action.
