The Ronald McDonald Care-Mobile has brought its pilot program to Deniliquin.
The Ronald McDonald Care-Mobile will be parked at Deniliquin South School this week as part of the ‘Grab It!’ pilot program.
The program helps infant students develop fine motor skills. Royal Far West in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities has enabled the mobile medical clinic to tour rural NSW at no cost to schools.
‘‘RFW is a non-government organisation that has been providing health services to children in these areas for over 89 years,’’ communications manager John Back said.
‘‘It works with families and their local health and education providers to complement existing services.
‘‘Every year, thousands of country children who have non-acute developmental, behavioural, learning, emotional and mental health disorders and limited access to local services benefit from RFW’s integrated clinical and educational model of care.’’
South School principal Greg Danckert said it was a great opportunity.
‘‘Hopefully we can pick up strategies and activities to use in class, and our staff will also be involved in professional training. We already have practices in place, but we’re aiming to gain further ideas to use across all classrooms.’’
