Block's star couple coming to Deniliquin
Josh and Jenna from the Channel Nine program The Block will be at Deniliquin Mitre 10 on March 23.
By Zoe McMaughRenovating superstars Josh and Jenna (pictured), of The Block fame, will be in Deniliquin on Saturday, March 23.
The popular reality star pairing will be hosted by Deniliquin Mitre 10 in Hardinge St as part of a family fun day.
Mitre 10 manager Alan Braybon says he is excited to welcome the Channel Nine celebrities, who are currently on our screens as part of The Block: All Stars challenge.
Josh and Jenna first appeared on the show in 2011, and their trademark bickering and flair for renovation and design saw them win the hearts of viewers.
They won four out of eight rooms during the 2011 renovation competition, where contestants have to recreate a derelict city property.
The 2011 season ended on a high for the couple when John proposed to Jenna on auction night.
At the time, the couple had just moved from Albury to Melbourne.
Josh is a qualified plumber and, since appearing on the show, Jenna has completed an intensive interior decoration course and is now studying a diploma of Interior Design & Decoration at RMIT University.
Now newlyweds and having created their own business, Bicker Design Co, Josh and Jenna are coming to Deniliquin to share their expertise with fans.
‘‘Josh and Jenna will hold a question and answer session, and will be available afterwards for photographs and signings,’’ Mr Braybon said.
To make it a whole day of fun, Mitre 10 will hold a family day in conjunction with the visit.
‘‘The army cadets will have a sausage sizzle, there will be a jumping castle and facepainting,’’ Mr Braybon said.
‘‘We’re holding a colouring competition with the schools and there will be give-aways for the kids on the day too.
‘‘While people are here, they will be able to take advantage of our in-store discounts.
‘‘Everyone who makes a purchase on the day will go in the running to win a $200 gift voucher.’’
The Mitre 10 fun day, featuring Josh and Jenna, will be held at the store in Hardinge St from 10am on Saturday, March 23.
