Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has decided to go ahead with its investment of $78 million in the SPC Ardmona factory in Shepparton.
This investment, combined with $22 million from the Victorian Government, will enable the recommencement of a $100 million investment program which was suspended following Greater Shepparton City Council’s decision not to allow SPC exclusive use of Andrew Fairley Avenue.
The original plan, however, which would have incorporated extensive construction works and an expansion of the factory, will not go ahead because the site remains bisected by Andrew Fairley Avenue.
A new amended plan includes investment in a greater level of automation throughout the SPC facility to
compensate for the logistical inefficiencies which remain on the divided site, SPC Ardmona said.
