New head for Murray Dairy

Blighty farmer Malcolm Holm has stepped up to the chair of the northern Victorian dairy development body.

Murray Dairy deputy chairman and Blighty farmer Malcolm Holm will step up to the role of chairman after last Friday’s board vote.

Daryl Hoey joins him as deputy chairman.

Mr Holm milks 600 cows on his 580ha property and is a graduate of the Australia Rural Leadership Program. He has been on industry body boards including Murray Irrigation Limited and is Evaluation of High Flow Surface Irrigation Project chairman.

Mr Hoey is a fourth-generation dairy farmer who moved to the Goulburn Valley in 1993 from a farm in Queensland. He and wife Lani share farmed for nine years before buying a farm at Katunga in 2002 where they milk 300 cows.

Mr Hoey is a United Dairyfarmers of Victoria Central Councillor for District Council 3, is a Australian Dairy Farmers board member and Australian Dairy Industry Council Basin Response Taskforce chairman.
