The Findon Harriers Hunt field trots towards the first cover at its Wahring meet recently.

Findon Harriers Hunt met at Wahring on Saturday, May 17 with a sunny, dry day giving the foxhound pack a tough task to pick up a scent.

A colourful field of horses and riders set off to find a fox behind huntsman Patrick O’Shea from Broadford, assisted by whippers-in Melissa Froesch (Broadford) and James Bradford (Woodstock).

Mr O’Shea quickly had his hounds on the job, with a fox put up in the first cover — a large timbered swamp — and a fast chase ensued.

Findon’s master of foxhounds, Stuart Abrahams from Tatura, said the field of 22 riders had a great day, with one fox accounted for.
