Suppliers for the niche dairy processor, Fresh Cheese, enjoyed a Christmas lunch at the Dhurringile Community Centre on Sunday.
The cheese manufacturer, based in Broadmeadows, has just 15 suppliers, all based around the Tatura, Dhurringile, Murchison and Undera area.
Supplier Mike Sorraghan said the last year had been positive for him, following a tight year previously.
‘‘It’s rained and we’ve got 100 per cent water,’’ Mr Sorraghan said.
‘‘I get out of bed every morning, knowing I have a roof over my head, a job to do and a family to come home to,’’ he said of his farming philosophy.
He and wife Selina are the parents of four young children, including twins.
Supplier Mark Brisbane said milk prices were on the improve and they had plenty of water, which was a nice change.
‘‘We just need a few good years in a row.’’
‘‘I try not to worry about things I have no control over,’’ Mr Brisbane said.
