Cobram-Barooga Apex Club has had a special guest from Wales for the past few weeks.By Randall Johnston
Ed Williams, 27, visited Cobram as part of a special Three Way Link exchange program that has seen Apex members travel to Wales and South Africa for the past 50 years — and vice versa.
‘‘I didn’t know what to expect really,’’ Mr Williams said.
‘‘I’ve done some amazing things.
‘‘We flew to Hungerford in a light plane, that was brilliant. We went to the Deni Ute Muster and we’ve been over to Echuca.
‘‘Everyone has been really friendly. I have been looked after very well.’’
His itinerary was kept secret, which was fine with Mr Williams — who said he had enjoyed every minute of it.
‘‘This is my first time in Australia and I’m getting to do things that most tourists would not get a chance to do.’’
The Welshman has travelled extensively to South Africa, the United States, Asia, New Zealand and Europe.
A project engineer by trade, Mr Williams said it was nice to have some time off work and said this was an experience he would never forget.

He said Apex always welcomed new members.
