Police are investigating after two children were left in a vehicle at Woolworths supermarket in Cobram.

Emergency services were called to Woolworths supermarket in Cobram this afternoon, where two children were left unattended in a vehicle.

Cobram police Senior Constable Mary-Jayne Kane said police believed the girls, aged 18 months and 5 years old, were left in an unlocked white four-wheel drive in the car park for about 10 minutes, with the ignition running.

Sen Const Kane said this was a timely reminder, while temperatures were soaring, that it was an offence to leave a person or animal unattended in a vehicle.

Investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information to the incident should phone Cobram Police Station on 5871 1977.
