BREAKING NEWS: An air ambulance has tonight taken a man, 24, to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne for treatment on a compound fracture in his leg.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man was wakeboarding on the Murray River when he came adrift.
A road ambulance attended to the man near Thompsons Beach about 7.20pm.
The air ambulance landed at Cobram Showgrounds about 9pm and had arrived in Melbourne within the hour.
