St Joseph’s Primary School’s 35th annual fete proved an outstanding success on Saturday with large crowds and a huge number of well-stocked stalls.

Stalls included food, plants, crafts, toys, books, trash and treasure, fairy floss, fruit, cakes and preserves.

Crowds flocked to the many food stalls with chips, donuts, continental and Indian food in demand in the cooler weather.

People cooking chips reported they ran out after cooking a record-breaking 100kg of chips and the donut stall queue was the longest of the day.

Children enjoyed face painting, train rides, show bags, jumping castle, animal nursery, dunking tank and games with the addition of a 30m abseiling wall proving popular.

Each class performed musical items of well-known songs to a large audience of parents and friends. Major fundraisers were the auction, spinning wheel, raffle hampers and the main raffle.

Sisters Maya and Lylah Shannon look pleased with their painted faces.
