It’s all here: Target Country Benalla store manager Karen Muir, Benalla Business Network and Goulburn Murray Credit Union manager Jenni Cogger, and Benalla Rural City business development officer Catherine Macmillan encourage the community to shop local this Christmas.
Residents are encouraged to shop locally this festive season while getting involved in celebrations across Benalla.
Friday marks 12 days before Christmas, which ties in with the launch of Benalla Rural City’s Festive Fridays and the ‘Christmas shopping? Better Be Benalla!’ campaign.
BRC business development officer Catherine Macmillan said there would be selected stores participating in late-night trading until 8
Shoppers will enjoy unrestricted free parking, as well as magic circus shows, jumping castles, Santa photos, buskers, community carols, mistletoe magic and roving performers.
‘‘This is a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping, then stick around and grab some dinner somewhere,’’ Ms Macmillan said.
Target Country Benalla store manager Karen Muir reminded residents about Operation Santa Giving Tree at Target Country, which supports UnitingCare Benalla.
Ms Muir said people could purchase a gift or gift card elsewhere or in-store, and bring it unwrapped and place it in the Operation Santa box with a tag from the tree.
She said the gifts would be collected by UnitingCare and distributed to local people in need.
Benalla Business Network and Goulburn Murray Credit Union manager Jenni Cogger said if people were unsure what gifts to purchase for family or friends this Christmas, there was always the Benalla Business Dollars, which could be used at participating stores across town.
You can purchase the dollars from the BBN website or by visiting GMCU.
