Pretty plump pumpkin

A pumpkin found in Cooinda Village has weighed in at a hefty 30.36 kilos.

By Erin Byrnes

We’re not sure what they’re putting in the water out in the Cooinda Village community garden, but it seems to be doing the job.

Residents were amazed to discover a monster pumpkin in the garden this week, which weighed in at an impressive 30.36kg.

Maureen Bruzzese brought in a photo of her grandsons Ethan, 6, and Rhyss, 8, posing with the giant vegetable, while Carol Chay sent in a photo with Cooinda residents.

Looks like pumpkin could be on the menu for the next couple of weeks.

Cooinda residents Wilma Fynmore, Phyllis Croxford, Pat Gardiner, Dianna Batten and Betty Pennington pose with the pumpkin.
