Australia Day celebrations at Molyullah were enjoyed by many, with supplied breakfast expertly cooked by Anthony Hill and Pat Horne, followed by the ceremonial flag-raising by war veteran Colin Handcock.

This was followed inside the hall by interesting reflections by guest speaker artist Kate Ferguson, who shared some of her own journey and insights into the beautiful wildlife paintings and drawings which have gained her international as well as local recognition.

On the initiative of one of the more forward thinking members of the Molyullah and Upper Ryans Creek community, residents present at the gathering began work on a comprehensive map project, detailing ‘‘who lived where, and when’’.

Landholders participated by drawing the boundaries of their properties on maps provided and the date that they purchased those properties.

A master map, coupled to a spreadsheet detailing present and past owners of the properties and the dates purchased, will then be set up and displayed in the local hall as a point of interest and ongoing community venture.

Past and present photographs of the properties will also be linked to the project in future.
