Benalla's Rich Man
Local singer Adam Toms has tasted success with the release of his sophomore album.
Local singer Adam Toms has released his sophomore album, Rich Man.
Produced with award-winning Matt Fell, the album features musician credits including Glen Hannah, Mitch Farmer, Josh Schuberth and Michael Carpenter.
The 12-track album includes self-penned tracks and songs co-written with Felicity Urquhart, Troy Kemp and Drew McAlister, along with vocals from Chris S Thomas, Sally-Anne Whitten and Briana Lee.
The album comes packaged with a real-life documentary, Are We There Yet — On The Road With Adam Toms, which tracks the highs and lows of nine months on the road with his wife Jo and two young boys Mitchel and Riley.
The DVD also includes Toms’ six film clips to date.
The first single Rowdy Together, released last August, was written with Troy Kemp and has since made its way onto three ABC Music compilation albums; Hell Yeah — Ultimate Country Drinking Songs, Hit Country 2013, and more recently, Songs That Make Us Country.
The title track, released to radio earlier this month, has little to do with monetary value and plenty to do with personal riches.
When Toms sings about being rich without the money, he can definitely relate.
The CMC New OZ Artist Of The Year nominee cites his family and the ability to play music for a living as things money just can’t buy.
Shine on me, which also features on this latest album, has recently been released as a digital download with all profits going to Aussie Helpers to assist Australians affected by the recent fires and floods. The song can be downloaded on iTunes.
‘‘Irrespective of whether he’s crooning or rocking out, Toms is master of his game on this sizzling second release,’’ Country Music Capital News’ Matt Lawrence said.
‘‘Take a bow son.’’
