Benalla Aviation on show at Avalon

The aviation museum team had a display tent at this year's international airshow.

Benalla Aviation Museum had a display tent at this year’s Australian International Airshow held from February 26 to March 3 at Avalon.

Aircraft flown in to the event were the CAC CA-25 Winjeel and the Dehavilland DH94 Moth Minor belonging to airline pilot Mark Carr. The museum’s Dehavilland Tiger Moth, currently under restoration, was trailered to Avalon to showcase the work the museum is doing and to promote the aviation history of Benalla’s own No.11 Elementary Flying Training School and the Benalla region.

The airshow contained a huge variety of craft including the sophisticated USAF Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor from the 19th Fighter Squadron Hawaii, the Boeing Stearman of the daring British team of Breitling Wingwalkers, Temora’s Iconic Spitfire and Meteor and many more.

With trade days up until 2pm Friday there were many corporate and business visitors through the display. General admissions started Friday afternoon, and Saturday was the busiest day.
