BBN elects new president
Benalla Business Network is looking forward to a new year after electing a new president and several committee members.
By Jemima LewisBenalla Business Network has experienced a busy and successful start to the year.
The group’s annual general meeting on March 5 saw Louise Armstrong elected as president. Several new members were elected to the executive and committee and will bring new energy and focus.
The group is aiming to achieve great things for the Benalla business community in the coming months.
‘‘We are looking forward to raising the profile of BBN in the wider community and want all businesses throughout the district — large and small from all sectors — to know that BBN wants to know what we can do to help you,’’ Ms Armstrong said.
‘‘The network is not just for retail businesses. BBN wants to work with all sectors, as a strong business community is essential for Benalla to thrive.’’
The BEAR program and Advancing Country Towns project are two affiliations that BBN is excited to be working with in providing support and strength to local businesses.
‘‘Funding has also just been received from the State Government to support businesses with training on the use of digital technology and social media to help gain the competitive edge,’’ Ms Armstrong said.
With additional resources and a revitalised committee, BBN expects to be able to work much more closely with all businesses, council and other stakeholders for the betterment of Benalla businesses.
