Grass fire near Hume Fwy burns 14ha
Country Fire Authority crews have contained a grass fire at Locksley.

Residents in Avenel, Locksley and Monea are advised smoke may still be visible, but the fire is safe.
12.10pm A grass fire at Locksley is being brought under control, but smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
The fire has burnt about 14ha from the Hume Fwy northwest to the hills. Ten units are at the scene.
It is believed the fire is not affecting traffic, but the Country Fire Authority advises caution near McCrackens Rd and the Hume Fwy in the Locksley area.
Avenel, Locksley and Monea residents may be affected.
What the CFA advises residents do:
• Monitor conditions.
• Check your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.
• If you are experiencing any symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, the Department of Health advises people to seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
• Check www.vicroads.vic.gov.au for road closure information.
